Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 12, 2026

MacDougall Email (“I”, “me”) operates this website. This policy explains what personal data the site collects, why, and what your rights are. It is deliberately short, because the site’s data collection is deliberately small.

Summary

  • The contact form collects your name, email address and message. It is forwarded to my inbox and not stored on the website.
  • Site analytics (Google Analytics) run only if you consent, via the banner shown on your first visit.
  • The free tools on this site run entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter in them is transmitted anywhere.
  • There are no user accounts, no advertising, and no third-party tracking beyond the analytics described below.

Data I Collect

Contact form

If you use the contact form, I collect the name, email address and message you provide. This information is sent by email to my inbox via an email delivery provider (SendGrid) acting as a processor on my behalf. The website itself does not store your submission; once delivered to my mailbox, the only copy is the email.

Your data is used solely to respond to your enquiry. Submitting the form does not add you to any mailing list.

Analytics

With your consent, this website uses Google Analytics to collect standard usage data — pages viewed, approximate location (country/city level), device and browser type, referral source, and visit times. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device for this purpose.

Analytics data is used only to understand how the site is used and improve it. Google Ireland Limited processes this data as a processor under Google’s own data processing terms. You can decline analytics entirely via the consent banner, or change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s cookies and reloading the page.

No other collection

The authentication checker, cost calculator and comparison tool on this site run entirely in your browser. Domains you check and figures you enter never leave your device.

Processing of contact form submissions is necessary to respond to your enquiry (legitimate interests, or performance of a contract once one is formed). Analytics processing is carried out on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

Retention

Enquiry emails are retained in my mailbox for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any resulting engagement, then deleted. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ standard retention settings.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). To exercise any right, email me at the address below.

Sharing

I do not sell or rent personal data. It is shared only with the processors named above (SendGrid for form delivery, Google for consented analytics), and if ever required by law.

International Transfers

Google and SendGrid may process data outside the UK/EU. Where they do, transfers rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the “Last updated” date above will change and the revised policy will appear on this page.
